Festival Between Cities

The Festival Between Cities, resulting from the union of municipalities, associations, cultural professionals and public and private institutions, was held at the Braga Youth Centre on 15 and 16 May.

Different types of shows took place on the stage, with the aim of promoting the culture and the natural and artistic heritage of the municipalities of Matosinhos, Braga and Peso da Régua.

During the month of May, the artists and show professionals, as well as their respective creations, were presented in their home municipality and later, in the months of June and July, replicated in the remaining cities.

81 Poetry, Theatre, Dance and Music performances were presented in three open-air spaces.

The work "Albas" served as the motto for Marta Ferreira's presentation, which took place on stage on 15 May at 7pm. It was an exhibition with a central theme directed towards the subject and its freedom.

To end the cultural weekend, the Youth Centre of Braga welcomed, on May 16, at 5pm, the poem "Between me and my silence" by Marta Moreira, a performance consisting of 13 poems by Herberto Hélder, Mário Cesariny, Eugénio de Andrade, Sofia de Mello Breyner Andresen, among other renowned authors. Finally, at 6.30pm, Tin.Bra Theatre Company took to the stage with the play "Familia Vroculis", telling the story of a family of winners, passionate about legends, which advocates the theatre and all its enriching forms.
