Braga Youth Centre
The Braga Youth Centre is a business unit of Invest Braga and its mission is to ensure accommodation and work conditions, capable of promote a non-formal education, the Human Rights and the development of Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Citizenship and Juvenile associative projects.
Develops its activity in Braga Youth Centre / Youth Hostel being this the excellent result of urban requalification, carried out by the Municipality of Braga, with the rehabilitation of Braga’s Youth Hostel.
This is the result of a protocol between Movijovem, the City Hall, InvestBraga and the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, signed in the end of 2016, in order to explore the Youth Hostel of Braga.
The architecture of this space, opened in the end of 2019, made it capable to concentrate services of high interest not only for young people, but also for the general public, either for the Youth Hostel integrated in it or for the services of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth.
After the requalification, this space is now capable of promote the development of Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Citizenship and Juvenile associative project, and, at the same time, foster actions of youth mobility, making possible to the young Portuguese people, specially the disadvantaged ones, a contact with the cultural heritage of Braga. Therefore, the Youth Centre has an important social role on the work with youth.
All the project development was made in order to respect the requirements of the Council of Europe for the application of a Quality Label, making it a national and international reference for the work with young people, with high quality standards, capable of implementing municipal youth policies, from a local and international perspective.
Braga Youth Centre
Located a few minutes walking from the Historic Centre of the city, Braga's Youth Centre is a multipurpose space that offers versatile and confortable accommodations, suitable for every age group.
