Cávado Youth Goals
The European project Cávado Youth Goals, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, aims to strengthen young people’s civic participation and bring them closer to local political decision-making processes.
The initiative involves the six municipalities of the Intermunicipal Community of Cávado — Amares, Barcelos, Braga, Esposende, Terras de Bouro, and Vila Verde — and has been promoting a wide range of youth-focused actions across these territories.
Through participatory activities, meetings, and moments of dialogue, the Cávado Youth Goals project seeks to encourage a more active, informed, and inclusive citizenship, giving young people a closer and more meaningful role in shaping the policies and decisions that impact their future.
The Braga Youth Center is associated with this initiative as a space for promoting youth participation, dialogue, and cooperation among different entities and youth communities.
Within the scope of the project, the Braga Youth Center took part in the five Decentralised Seminars, which brought together hundreds of secondary school students from each municipality, 11 facilitators, and approximately 40 youth workers and political decision-makers from the municipalities that make up the CIM Cávado.
These Laboratories were promoted by the partners of Cávado Youth Goals, namely Guimarães 2026 – European Green Capital, the Braga Youth Center, Human Power Hub, FAJUB, and Equilibrium Social Circus.
Braga Youth Centre
