Braga Youth Centre welcomes 15 university students who won Georgia's Student Festival Project
Between 1 and 3 December, the Braga Youth Centre welcomed a group of 15 students from three universities in Georgia, who were recognised as part of the Student Festival Project, an initiative promoted by the Georgia Youth Agency, where the young people involved presented their high social impact volunteer projects.
This visit was reflected in a diverse agenda that allowed participants to get to know the youth, cultural and innovative ecosystem of the city of Braga, as well as the working practices developed at the Braga Youth Centre.
Over three days, students had the opportunity to:
- Learn about the functioning, programmes and methodologies of the Braga Youth Centre;
- Participate in a Peddy Paper around the city, exploring Braga's historical and cultural heritage;
- Discover national initiatives dedicated to youth well-being, such as the IPDJ's Cuida-te Programme;
- Take part in non-formal education activities facilitated by FAJUB;
- Visit local landmarks, such as GNRation, Startup Braga and Human Power Hub;
- Attend the official presentation of Braga's Christmas Lights, an iconic moment for the city;
- Present their winning projects, sharing good practices and innovative solutions in their communities.
The visit stood out for its strong intercultural dimension and for creating a space for dialogue and mutual learning between young leaders and local organisations. For the Braga Youth Centre, the initiative reinforces its commitment to promoting youth participation, international cooperation and skills development through non-formal education.
‘It was a very enriching experience for everyone involved, allowing us to learn about inspiring projects developed by highly motivated young people who are committed to their communities,’ said the team at the Braga Youth Centre.
The Braga Youth Centre thanks all participants for their enthusiasm and collaborative spirit throughout the visit and reaffirms its mission to continue opening doors, inspiring young people and strengthening networks that promote active citizenship, inclusion and social innovation.
