Young people from Braga represented Portugal in the European project ‘Studio Star’ in Luxembourg
Between 31 August and 6 September 2025, a team of young people from the Braga Youth Centre represented Portugal in the international exchange Studio Star – Youth Exchange, held at the Marienthal Youth Centre in Luxembourg.
The initiative, promoted by the Destelheide, Hoge Rielen and Hanenbos (Belgium), in partnership with the Luxembourg National Youth Services and the Council of Europe's Quality Label Centres network, brought together young people from various European countries around the theme ‘Right to Life, Freedom and Security’, inspired by Articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Over the course of an intense week, participants immersed themselves in an educational and artistic experience, exploring human rights through creative workshops in four different areas: Audio, Video, Performance and Visual Arts.
The Braga delegation had the opportunity to share views, create in collaboration with young people of other nationalities and learn about good practices in non-formal education in a multicultural and inspiring environment. The programme also included cultural activities, visits, themed evenings and final artistic presentations.
“It was a unique and enriching experience. I had the opportunity to express myself and create through art on topics that are important not only to me, but also to the world in general.”
“I loved meeting people from other countries and learning about their traditions, I loved being able to be myself. The workshop helped me discover myself as a person. There are no words to explain how incredible this experience was.”
“It was a very positive week, full of discoveries. I felt well integrated and valued, and I came back wanting to return and relive the whole experience.”
“It was a productive week with lots of learning. I came away wanting to return and repeat everything as if it were the first time.”
