Political Festival

The Political Festival returns to Braga Youth Centre, from 6 to 8 May, with the central theme of Borders. The programme highlights online activities, where an advance registration is required, and face-to-face activities at the Centre's facilities.

On May 6 at 6:30 pm, the Festival will present a national premiere nominated for the Oscars 2021, specifically the documentary "Colectiv - A Case of Corruption". Also on the same day, at 21:15, the stage of the Youth Centre will host a performance by André Murraças called "Fronteiras", a solo consisting of several stories of struggle and persistence of people who left their country in search of a better life.

As for May 7th, it will start, at 6:30pm, with the presentation of the project "travessia" (Ambigular) and the premiere of the documentary "Braga, an open door?" by the events producer Mooca Fixe. Also on the same day, at 7:30 pm, will be shown the allegorical show about the concept of border, "Não cries esperança, ismos" and, finally, at 9 pm, Carlos Pereira will go on stage with a humor show about everyday life, discrimination and human rights.

To conclude the Festival, on 8 May, at 11am, a documentary/reportage entitled "Gypsy Revolution" will be screened. It is the story of a team of young gypsy women from Braga who daily challenge and fight against the stereotypes in society.
